LYDIA DURKIN – CURRENT TRAINEE SOLICITOR AND FORMER STUDENT OF ‘UNIVERSITY EXPERT COURSE ON SPANISH LAW TAUGHT IN ENGLISH’ AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ANDALUCIA (2014-2015) AND FORMER ERASMUS STUDENT (SUMMER 2014)

“I studied this course whilst completing the final year of my Law Degree in the UK. I was inspired to complete the course after carrying out an Erasmus work placement at the University of Malaga in 2014. I greatly enjoyed the course, particularly the ability to compare Spanish law and English law and to recognise and compare the similarities and differences.

One of the things that I found most endearing was that the subjects covered in the course were just as wide in scope and as in depth as English legal studies so you felt as though you were gaining a real understanding of Spanish law. Furthermore, I was greatly impressed by the knowledge and assistance all of the tutors offered and I always received a prompt response to any queries that I had.

I was able to study the course whilst back in the UK by way of video link which was great as I felt that I was still a part of the class and I was still able to ask questions at any time. I even managed to participate in the end of the course party!.

The classes did not impact upon any of my other commitments, such as working and studying, as the classes were held of a Tuesday evening. I have also found that having studied this course has been an additional unique selling point when attending any job interviews as it demonstrates to employers that you are willing to push yourself further.

Since completing this course I have often spoke with others regarding my experience as both an Erasmus student and as a student at UNIA. I would highly recommend the course to others as you experience both a high standard of teaching and learning.”
